Celebration of Life
Condolences
We were extremely sad to learn about the passing of Maria. Maria and Alamiro were dear friends of my parents and provided tremendous support to them in many ways over the years. When my mother and father moved into a retirement home, they frequently dropped by to brighten up their day. During covid, after the restrictions eased, they were one of the first friends to reach out and come sit with them in the garden of their facility. Even when visits were not possible Maria kept in touch by calling to ask about our family. We will always remember her great warmth, kindness and generosity. Our deepest condolences to Alamiro and the Fernandez family.
Your light will always shine, until we meet again my friend
“When all our summers have come to an end
I'll see you in my dreams
We'll meet and live and laugh again
I'll see you in my dreams
Yeah, up around the river bend
For death is not the end
And I'll see you in my dreams
(See) you in my
See you in my dreams
Go
And I'll see you in my dreams”

I have had the pleasure of knowing Maria for many years. When we first met I was a bit taken aback though. When I was introduced to her by name Leslie (Les) she said that's not a boy's name I'll call you Miguel. From that point on I would go by Miguel or Les, as if I had a choice. Maria was an extremely strong willed person, and that's one of the reasons she was loved so much. She was also very thoughtful and compassionate. I will dearly miss laughing with her and listening to the stories she would tell. She had a larger than life impact on the people around her and for that I will be forever grateful. My heart goes out to Alamiro, Pablo, Sal, Carlos, Nathan, Izi, and all her family and friends grieving her loss.
Maria was one of the kindest and most loving people I’ve known. Her friendship to my family was so special. She was so generous to us and never asked for anything. We always laugh about how your mom took care of me when we were kids because she didn’t know that I’d be staying for as long as I did! She took me into your home and treated me like family when my parents needed the help. And she’s always treated us like family. Her friendship with my mom, visiting my dad in his last days and even helping to babysit Mateo are memories that I’ll always treasure. Your mom was like family to us and we loved her. She will be missed.
It was a pleasure and a delight to have know Maria as my neighbor for the last 2 years. She was friendly, kind and always smiling. She was very much family oriented and talked about her sons all the time. My heartfelt condolences go out to Alamiro and family.
She will be missed for sure.
We were fortunate to have known Maria, a beautiful, caring and fun loving person who as soon as you met her was your friend. She will always be remembered fondly for her good humour and welcoming smile. Our thoughts are with Sal and his family at this difficult time.

Maria was one of the sweetest & bravest people I have ever known. I was lucky enough to have her in my life since 1988. She loved her family & was so proud of her boys. She will be remembered & she will be missed. My deepest condolences to Alamiro & the family.
How fortunate I feel to have had your beautiful Maria as a friend. Maria inspired me with her courage, resilience and the love she so freely gave. I wish I had been able to see both Maria and Alimuro since I moved from Calgary eighteen years ago, but we kept in touch because we loved each other. Rest in love, Maria.
I am sending love and deepest sympathy to your beautiful family, especially you, Alimuro.
