Obituary of John Macey

John Edward George Macey was born May 4, 1946, in St. Albans, England to parents Charles and Blodwen Macey. John passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Calgary, AB at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Patricia, John was a proud father of four children, Debbie, Adam, Julie, and Keith, and was Papa to his four grandchildren, Jordan, Bret, Brianna, and Kaitlyn.

John was an IT Manager for the City of Calgary for over 30 years and was a true cowboy at heart. He enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Cuba, Germany, and England. He was an avid fan of the Calgary Flames and a lover of all animals including the family dogs, Duke and Jax, and his horses, Walter and Tigger.

John will be most remembered for his love of his family, his dry and sarcastic sense of humour, and his big smile.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
