Condolences
Favorite memory: when I was in theology in the seminary in Ottawa, Art and Marion were transferred to the capital. They didn't know too many people there, nor did I, so we spent a lot of time together, and I got to know them well, and to appreciate Art's gentleness and kindness, and great sense of humour. He was a very welcoming guy.

Uncle Art had a great love of God and the Catholic Church. He would always honour the Lord's Day by attending Mass, as he often did with me when he visited. He was very grateful to God for all the gifts he was given by God, some of which are described below.
The gift of life and family: Uncle Art loved his family and cherished his many years of marriage to Aunt Marion. He took many trips with Marion, Aunt Jean, Uncle Jack, and Aunt Kate. He also demonstrated his love of family by attending Jim's 80th birthday celebration, and visiting with many family members even through Uncle Art was ill at the time.
The gift of fellowship through Uncle Art's association with the Knights of Columbus: Uncle Art spent several years helping out at Knights' breakfasts, including helping out at the Calgary Stampede.
The gift of living in a country as beautiful as Canada: Even though Uncle Art travelled a lot, he always thought that Canada was the best country, with loving people, beautiful scenery and plentiful resources.
Uncle Art appreciated the gift of employment through working at Immigration Canada, and the RCMP. He loved the RCMP, which taught him to be focused and disciplined in the tasks at hand. He respected the RCMP's chain of command and their mission to protect people.
Uncle Art also had great taste in clothing, as he was always very well dressed, and neat in appearance. He also had a love of cars, and continued driving well into his nineties.
