Condolences
Dear Laurie and family,
Our sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear mother and grandmother. We feel fortunate to have gotten to know your parents through their close friendship with my parents, Lloyd and Tillie Snow. I especially remember how they had chosen the Statesman together as their desired seniors’ residence when leaving their Briar Hill homes. When a suite for Don and Jean became available first, they kindly invited our family for a tour of the building and tea in their new suite after they were settled in. We were very impressed with how comfortable they seemed there, which put everyone’s mind at ease about our parents’ upcoming move. Over the years, we had many enjoyable visits with your parents over dinners together in the Statesman dining room and saw how proud they were of your family and their grandsons’ accomplishments.
Jean was a lovely woman and a loyal friend to Mom, especially after Dad’s passing. We’re so glad to know that Jean remained vibrant, healthy, and independent among her Statesman friends for so many years. Our thoughts are with you in this difficult loss.

Jean and Don were good friends and neighbours of my parents in Briar Hill, and then table mates in Garrison. Jean was always good company, and a big support for my mother when she was widowed. I well remember the homemade muffins she delivered to the suite after my father died. A kind act that was much appreciated.
To Laurie and Phil and family,
Our deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. You will miss her so much. Jean was a very special person to me and I really enjoyed our visits and I was very happy to have her in my life. I always told her that she was the poster lady for aging gracefully, as she remained so sharp intellectually and her physical health was so good for so long. Her decline physically the last couple of months was so hard on her and now she is at peace. Her and her husband Don were especially wonderful to my mother over the years. I remember many good times and lots of laughter with the whole family. I will remember you always Jean. Love, Judy and Brian and family
Always a sweet lady. Provided my first paid babysitting experience, looking after Laurie, who wasn't much younger than me. Rumour has it my youngest brother dropped by her house often to visit and eat cookies. - Alison
