Obituary of Tanechia Marie Simpson

June 4, 1988 – Fort St. John, British Columbia

July 24, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Tanechia Marie Simpson, born on June 4, 1988, passed away unexpectedly on July 24th, 2023. Our beautiful Tanechia was a mother, daughter and sister who will be greatly missed by us and many more!

Tanechia was born in Fort St. John, BC, but grew up in Hope, BC, where she graduated from Hope Secondary in 2006. Tanechia did a variety of jobs over her lifetime and excelled in management and organizational skills. She took care of office administration, entry data and logistic functions. Conducted safety inspections and operated forklift, power jacks and other handling equipment. She always took pride in her work and management always seen this which made her successful in all her jobs. She recently started college courses to which would enable her to start a future business with her sister Mariah.

Our beloved Tanechia was a witty and funny one. You could never pull a fast one on her; she always loved a good debate. She loved and cared about all animals, maybe just not those spiders! Tanechia had a passion for hockey, camping, music, hiking and taking her kids on adventures. She had a good insight and a very strong desire to find her better self. She was very strong willed and pushed back against the normal. She was a force to be reckoned with.

Tanechia is survived by her parents Colleen, Sean and Eron, and daughters Saala and Ivy as well as siblings Mariah, Brody, Chazmin. 

She has been predeceased by her biological father Brian Ellwood.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Hudson’s Canada’s Pub, Upper Pack Room (16061 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB, T2Y 3S5) at 1:30PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her surviving daughters Saala and Ivy’s trust fund at colfsimp@gmail.com.
