Condolences
I am only just now hearing about Jerry's passing, in mid-September. I am stunned and sorry to hear that he's gone. Jerry contributed articles and many photos to ARRL's ham radio publications, winning the QST magazine Cover Plaque Award for his July 2011 article, "Gain Twist 75 Meter Mobile Monobander." His photos appeared on the cover of QST numerous times, as well as on the covers of ARRL books. Here at Headquarters, we admired not only his photos, but also his technical know-how and his spirit of adventure. He will be missed. 73, Becky Schoenfeld, W1BXY, Director of Publications, ARRL
Dear Rolly,
Bob and I have just heard of Jerry’s passing, and we’d like to extend our sincere sympathy to you and Jennifer. Jerry was a pleasure to work with, and we very much enjoyed the few times we got together socially.
May he rest in peace, and may your good memories sustain you.
Cathy and Bob Martin.
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I have a photo of an owl that Jerry gave me and one of horses taken at Porcupine Hill in the winter.i will cherish them forever.
Mes sincères sympathies à toi et toute la famille
I was very saddened to hear that VE6AB has become a Silent Key. It was a pleasure to have worked a few events with Jerry and listen to his early morning travels around Southern Alberta. Not being a photographer myself, I thoroughy enjoyed his many pictures. Especially enjoyed his train photographs of trains and his models that he built. Having come from a Railroad family I was in awe of his many great photos of trains and his explanations. However, I enjoyed all of his photos. He will be missed by many that had the pleasure to meet and hear VE6AB. My condolences to his family
Rolly, Jennifer,
My deepest condolences for your loss. Jerry was an inspiration to me in pursuit of Amateur Radio. His build quality was second to none as we are all aware. He leaves behind a legacy having nurtured along many in his hobbies and pursuits.

It was a pleasure to have known Jerry. Jim and I were in awe of his dads "toyland". Jerry was so proud of his dad and all his achievements. I still talk about the model train set up in your basement and what an ingenious use of space. What a talent he possessed!! So sorry for your loss Rolly. May God give you peace and comfort.
Rolly and Jennifer ❤️ Our heartfelt condolences go out to you both during this trying time. We have so many memories of visits and laughs that we shared together. We enjoyed Jerry’s many beautiful pictures over the years. He had such a knack for capturing the beauty in things. ❤️ May the many happy memories and stories help your hearts to heal a little bit every day. Love to you both. Angie and Casey Van Unen
