Condolences
Kathy, Doug, Randy and Family it was an honour to attend Mabel’s graveside service and celebration of life today. I will always remember her as someone full of life. Despite the challenges with arthritis that she suffered as she aged she had a strong will to live and we were fortunate to have her into her 90th year. Randy your eulogy was very touching and a wonderful tribute. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
I met Mabel at the Calgary Power office building. I was a field technician temporary assigned to work in the office. We would walk and talk together while going to the parking lot to get into our cars. Mabel never forgot my name even though we did not see each other frequently. We always spoke to each other when we met and sometime when time was tight it was just a wave and 'Hi'. She was a truly gracious lady and friend to me.

Our hearts go out to you as it’s not easy saying goodbye to a loved one, especially someone as amazing as Mabel.
We knew Mabel as a strong, independent woman whose kind heart and zest for life made her a joy to be around.
It was no secret that Mabel’s priority in life was the happiness of her family and friends who all loved her dearly.
Mabel was a true inspiration for so many and she will be greatly missed.

To Kathy, Randy, Doug, Kara Dawn, Nicole and families,
The world lost a golden treasure of a human being. Mabel was always welcoming, always upbeat, always smiling, and always had some wonderful stories to tell. She was definitely the hostess with the mostess. Fred and I thought of her as 'our other mom' and she was loved beyond measure. We are so, so, so very sorry to hear of her passing and will be thinking of all of you in days ahead. We remember the good old days with much fondness.
Love, Fred & Dianne Rossol (in Medicine Hat)
Doug, Kathy and Families;
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for the loss of your beloved mom and Grandma, Mabel. We have such fond memories of Mabel and Ed, playing cards at their house. She was always so positive and welcoming. Our thoughts are with you and your families during this difficult time. May your hearts mend a little with each passing day.
With deepest condolences
Ken and Kathy Wedin
I had the great pleasure of working with your Mom at TransAlta - Division One office and later with the TransAlta Employees Association. Wise woman, great smile and laugh. The best was when she was in marketing and a greenhouse customer required power by a certain date. She told him, I can’t make any promises, but if you get it - I’ll be looking for a nice bouquet of flowers. He got it early and be darned if she didn’t get a beautiful arrangement of red roses! People like Mabel are few and far between. My heart is hurting. My deepest sympathy to Kathy, Doug and families. She will be sorely missed.
