This brought me some deep sadness today. I actually did not know Kathy had passed away. I think of her often when it is time for my summer holidays every summer in the Nakusp and Burton area on the beautiful Arrow Lake, this is coming up in July/August. I ran into her from time to time at the Nakusp Hot Springs. She was one of my favorite Managers at TELUS. She was fair, honest, hardworking, and a great Leader. A funny story I must share. When I was working in Credit and Collections and my Manager was Kathy, working on her team and I was going through a nasty divorce and child custody battle, and I could always count on Kathy being fair and understanding. I went through some stress, and when I needed times off to deal with things, meeting lawyers and court etc. I had a high level of stress and Kathy was always there with support, and understanding. She once even escorted my ex husband off the floor in the AGT/TELUS Tower where he was harassing me while at work, she told him next time he bothered me at work she would not only call Security but she would call the police. She really stood up for her team! She was great with all of her team, and always fair with us and her customers. Although, I quite honestly just found out on Facebook, I still want to pass on my sincere condolences better late than never to all of her family. May you all share memories of her and smile. See you one day Kathy I am sure we will meet again!
