Katherine Wormsley, beloved wife of Frederick "Rick" Wormsley, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the age of 67 years.

Kathy was born in Calgary, AB, on September 19, 1955. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Rick, on February 6, 1982, and went on to have two children and five grandchildren whom she cherished with her whole heart.

Kathy had many accomplishments throughout her life and was particularly proud of her 36-year career at Telus, after which she went on to fulfill her dream of opening a campground in Nakusp, BC. She has successfully operated Riders Retreat with her husband Rick and daughter Rebecca for the last 14 years.

Kathy had a passion for life and always saw the good in people. Her friendships were always an important part of her life. She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile, her problem-solving skills, her compassion for humanity, and her loving commitment to her family.

Besides her husband Rick, Katherine is survived by her daughter Rebecca Jewell, her son Patrick Wormsley, her daughter-in-law Charlotte Wormsley, and her five grandchildren, Brady and Austin Jewell, and Gideon, Avalon, and Elias Wormsley, all of Calgary, AB.

Katherine is also survived by her three siblings, her brother Wayne Covey and sister-in-law Olga Covey of Cyprus, her brother Lyle Covey of Calgary, and her sister Linda Torrez of Strathmore, AB; her aunt Arlene Lawlor of Ontario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Katherine was predeceased by both her parents, Eunice Mary Covey and David Roy Covey.

A Celebration of Katherine’s Life will be held at the Riverbend Community Association (19 Rivervalley Drive SE, Calgary, AB) on October 14, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friends and colleagues are welcome to come pay their respects and share their memories.
