Condolences
I treasure the times we spent with the Fischers at mom and dad’s (Roy and Martha Gamble) in Kamloops for Christmas holidays. Cousins Norm and Lenore would truck us up some old logging trails, and we would slide down for miles on toboggans back to their cabin at Paul Lake and enjoy a spaghetti supper. Our families also enjoyed skiing at Sunshine (Todd) mountain where we would ride the long lifts to find we were above the clouds at the top and then take a five mile ski down to the lodge. Ken was a quiet and stable influence on all of us. He was a good man My condolences and love to Madeleine, Darrin, Dee and Jill and to all of the grandchildren.
My best memory was a number of them. As said, Ken was a teacher, not a critical one, but a patient always there for you one. We first met around 1957 as players in a baseball game ... I think it was in Viking and he patiently guided me, who hadn't played for awhile, through a few innings. We were good friends from then on in baseball and again years later in golf. Now in golf, he was the every stroke improving one where as , well ... I was occasionally competitive. But we always enjoyed the moment. Madeleine and Ken contacted my wife, Timi, and me and we made up a golf foursome, a dinner out group, occasionally a church inviting and a Stampede Breakfast get together for many summers thereafter. He will be in our hearts forever.
Love yeh. Amen
