The Christie Family .
we were saddened when we leaned of your fathers passing Don was a remarkable friend to our family and will be sorely missed.
I give you this one thought to keep.
I' m with you still I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you Awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think me as gone.
I am with you still, in each new dawn.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there ,I do not sleep.
Do not stand there at my grave and cry
I am not there, i did not die.
Not goodbye until we meet again Smoky
Rest in Peace, Don. Condolences to Don's Family, Brother Firefighters and Friends.Lois & Dennis McIvor
Our sincere condolences to the Lindberg Family on the passing of "Brother" Don from the Fire Department Pensioners Association. Unfortunately our Christmas largest meeting is the day of Don's Service so many won't be able to make it, but our thoughts will be with you.
To the Lindberg family and friends,
So sad to hear of the passing of Don. My thoughts are with you all.
So many fun memories at CFD Training and also on a personal level. Parties with Don and Samantha (Sam) in Bowness at their home. Don was a great friend and would give you the shirt off his back to his true friends. The last time I saw him in person he was visiting Jimmy Anderson (his bestie and retired Assistant Chief Training Officer) at the Rocky View hospital when I was also there visting Jimmy and we kept in contact by phone after for a number of years while he was living in BC.
Don loved old vintage cars (early 1950s+) and was amazing at restoring and getting them professionaly painted and the many car shows that he won. He also loved crossword puzzles and especially the daily Sun newspaper crossword. GOD FORBID if anyone at Training got in before him in the morning before work started in the coffeee room and 'messed' (not his words), it up with the wrong words (maybe on purpose? - there were so many pranks we all took part in to each other at the time). You better RUN fast!
See you again some day, pal. Say hi to Jimmy and the gang above. Cheers.
