Jaime “Jimmy” Manzo of Calgary, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

He immigrated to Canada and moved to Calgary by way of Vancouver, BC in the late seventies. Jimmy graduated from the University of San Carlos with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Not disclosing to her how cold Alberta, Canada is, he married his beloved Josefina in April 1977.

He was a member of several different clubs in Calgary some of which included much involvement with the Professional Engineering Community; and as an Advisor for both The Visminsa Club and The Boholano Society of Calgary. He was also a dedicated Blood Donor to the Canadian Red Cross Society.

Jimmy accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his family and friends. Jimmy enjoyed sports, particularly playing tennis and golf in his younger days; and watching Basketball and Football. He had a passion for literature, was an avid reader and a lover of music. One of his favourite pastimes was solving Crossword Puzzles and watching Jeopardy regularly.

Jimmy and Josie had a chance during their lifetime together to enjoy travelling to Asia, Central and South America, USA, and throughout Canada. He will be most remembered for his persistent, joyful personality and overall kindness to others.

Besides his loving wife Josefina, Jimmy is survived by his eldest daughter, Magnolia (Maggie) Manzo, two sons, Miguel Manzo,

Rodrigo Manzo and their partners; and grandson Diego.

Jimmy is also survived by his two brothers, Jorge ‘Boboy’ Manzo, Jesus ‘Jesse’ Manzo, and their spouses; he is remembered fondly by brother-in-law Ed ‘Pee-Wee’ Peralta, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who reside locally and internationally.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Angela, eldest brother Jose C. Manzo, fondly known as ‘Dodong’, eldest sister Elba Manzo and youngest sister Eleanor ‘Bebing’ Manzo Peralta.
