I would like to extend my condolences to Pat's children. As manager of Human Resources at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, I worked closely with Pat on staffing issues. Her calm and caring approach to managing gained the respect of the people she worked with in the medical imaging department.
RIP Pat

Sat. Jan. 13,2024 The “Horse and Buggy to the Moon” story:
At Bill R’s celebration of life on Cedar Valley Road, Fraserville, in 2011, Pat and I were talking to two doctors in one corner of the log house. I mentioned that Pat managed the Medical Imaging Dept. for Forty Years ( 1969-2009)…. One of the doctors said, “Oh My! She went from “horse-and-buggy to the Moon” during that time with the developments in technology!”….Pat in her humble and meek way, laughed and said, I guess so……”Bravo Pat! Bravo for your great “stardust to dance to stardust” presence with us!
Dearest Pat, a cousin I didn’t know well but knew the stories of raising her daughters while excelling at her career. She may have been the inspiration for my own career path. Walk with the angels Pat, you are surely amoung them now.
A few more condolences from some in CNWE and St. Frances, Marist (Beth L)

Dear Beth
Very sorry for your loss. Your sister had a wonderful life!. Prayers for you and your family.
(V Dunne Sat.122323) Greetings Beth – and greetings all. Thank you Beth for telling us of the death of your eldest sister. In the photo accompanying her obituary, Pat has such a bright and warm face. Raising five daughters in itself is a wonderful contribution to the world and to the future. Living with “Progressive Primary Aphasia and Dementia since around 2017” is the walk of champions.
I only had one sister. Her name was Mary. She was six years younger than me, and she died in 2016. I found her death really hard. Surprisingly hard. We lived at a geographical distance from one another, and only saw each another at irregular intervals. I learned how deeply I loved Mary, and how close we were, despite geographical distances.
So I hope as you accept Pat’s death you find comfort in the support of family and friends. In spirit, I am standing beside you and holding your hand.
Kind regards, Veronica Dunne ( Winnipeg)

My heartfelt condolences on the passing of your sister....she sounded like a beautiful person , as well as amazing. I grew up with four sisters, and we lost our dear sister, Beth, in 2015. I miss her terribly, but have so many treasured memories, that bring a smile as time passes. You are in the difficult phase right now, but hopefully similar memories will console you as time goes by.

Thinking of all of you who loved Pat. She certainly was a joyful and kind soul moving through the world gently.
Her daughters were her proudest achievement and the grandkids who came after. Lots of family members for Pat to visit and love.
When she could no longer travel, she was embraced and looked after by family so lovingly untill the end.
What a beautiful family to know.
My sincere condolences for your massive loss.

(From Pat's longtime friend Lois Ann (Richards) Kneeland)
I first met Pat when she joined our Grade 12 Class in Sept. ’58. We soon became good friends and spent a lot of time together where I often visited 159 Orange St. Following Grad.
We were both accepted into the X-Ray program at St. Joseph’s in Saint John. Upon graduating and passing our RT’s we went to work throughout the province.
A year later wander lust set in so Pat, Doreen(a fellow grad) and I embarked on an adventure to England to find work and see the world. We certainly did that travelling through over 10 European countries in and old Bedford van which never let us down. Upon returning to Canada we all found jobs, married and started families. Through it all, we remained in touch getting together whenever Pat visited her family.
We attended several Class reunions together and on one of our reunions, Betty LaRocque joined us celebrating her own class reunion. A few years ago Pat spent a day with John and I in Canmore where we hiked one of the nearby mountains .
My memory of Pat is one of her being so caring, calm, insightful and able to accomplish anything she set out to do.
Be at peace now Pat my angelic friend. Lois Anne Kneeland
Pat and her family were our very dear neighbours for close to 20 years when we all lived in Bathurst. She freely shared her kindness and generosity with us numerous times. Her five and our two girls ran back and forth between the two adjoining houses at will. We all went to PEI on vacation together and made numerous trips to Youghall Beach and I remember one delightful picnic at Pabineau Falls. In later years we all moved to different localities but the friendship stayed the test of time. Rest in peace, dear friend. You have earned it.
In 1941 when Pat came into this world, our Dad Gordon was driving a bus for the Air Force based in Halifax. We have our father’s memoirs which details his life in the force going back-and-forth from Halifax to Saint John NB
Mom Betty was kind of lonesome out in the country in Fairvale and Dad would get home when he could on weekends. I came along in 1945 the second of what would become almost 2 families: Three girls and 5 years later three boys.
Dad left the force in 1946 or so because of his growing family. He managed SMT bus station/restaurants while we moved from St. Stephen to Campbellton, and back to Saint John.
If I can upload this photo of Pat and myself on the porch of Delhi Street in St. John in 1947, it shows Pat with her lovely Shirley Temple curls, so proud of her little sister.
If I can upload The photo of all of us siblings at 159 Orange St. in Saint John in 1989, it shows Pat, Beth, Joe, Gord, Peter, and Paul. We try to get together as often as possible.
I’ll let other family members fill in other parts of Pat’s story. With much love Beth LaRocque
