Condolences
I’m so sad to hear of Alan’s passing. Alan was so talented in so many ways, there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t build, fix or create. He had a big heart, a warm smile and to know Alan was to love him. He lived life on his terms! We will miss him, his spirit and his memories will live on in us. Dear Marlene may your memories bring a smile to your face and comfort you.

Hi Marlene sorry to hear of our cousin Alans passing. We remember re-connecting with Alan at the Law reunion in Calgary a number of years ago. May all your good memories of Alan and your life together help you during this very sad time. Kathy and Bill Reid ( Winnipeg)

Oh Mar…..I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your Alan. He was a great man of many many talents, and I always envied his ability and dedication to take on any job, no matter how big or small. He was a wealth of knowledge and I always enjoyed talking with him and getting his perspective on whatever the flavor of the day was, and of course we talked about automobiles. He will be missed by all that knew him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. Please take care of yourself Mar and remember all of the good times.
Much love,
Terry Parsons
Losing a friend is always difficult, but a bigger tragedy would have been not knowing Al. I was privileged to have been best friends with Al, along with Les, Len and Ken from early elementary school years through to graduation at Queen Elizabeth High School. Al was always positive and fun to be with. If he wasn't inventing a better tool, he would be thinking of a better or stronger way of constructing something. I guess you could say he had a beautiful mind, annoying at times, but beautiful never the less. Alan's beautiful mind along with his fabricating and construction skills are quite evident when you see the lovely home he renovated for Marlene and himself. Oh, did I forget stubborn! Stubbornly not giving up on that old Dodge crew cab long box pickup, but on a positive note, finishing his prized Model "A". Way to go Al! If I have any regrets, it would be because of moving away, my kids missed out on the the mentoring of Al, Les, Len and Ken! Al, you will definitely be missed by all who knew you. I will definitely miss you. Our condolences go out to Marlene, Glenda and families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always! Love Rick and Mar

Al was always there for anyone who asked. He was a wealth of info with many story’s. I know we often drove Mar nuts listening to them.
He and Mar walked me to my first day of school when our family moved to West Hillhurst. They put up with me on so many camping trips to Radium , tagging along to movies (all oldies) and to the circus. Helping me buy my first hiking boots for my elementary school camp trip. Starting me downhill skiing in Kelowna with all the gear, and taking me along to Big White.
As I got older and bought my first home he taught me to measure three times and cut once. I’m pretty sure my bathroom Reno took forever because every tile had to be perfect. He rescued me when my garage door fell on my car and was always a phone call away.
I will miss you Al as many others will. You will always be in our memories. See you again one day!
Love always your sis in law aka sister and often felt like your daughter.
Doris
