Obituary of Xiomara Rodriguez de Blanco

August 16, 1946 – Caracas, Venezuela

January 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Xiomara Rodriguez de Blanco passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her spirited energy, and her love for her family and friends, as well as her passion for educating and supporting children. She graduated as an elementary teacher in Caracas in 1967 and continued her studies in education at the National Open University, while working as a teacher in different elementary schools in Caracas. In 2000, she started majoring in education at the Central University of Venezuela, where she eventually obtained a bachelor's degree in education in 2005. Xiomara, along with her husband, immigrated to Canada in 2016 to be close to one of her daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Xiomara is survived by her husband, Luis Alfredo Blanco, to whom she was married for 54 years; her two daughters, Aljulie and Lizmar Blanco; her two grandchildren, Victoria and Wild Alexander Guevara; and her two sons-in-law, Ivan David Bernal and Wild Alfredo Guevara. She also is survived by her siblings, Francisco, Livia, Marbella, Ivonne, Haide, Rolando, Yola, Lizbeth, Luis Alejandro, and Raquel Rodriguez. Xiomara is predeceased by her parents, Francisco Rodriguez and Felicidad Martinez de Rodriguez; and siblings, Jasmina, Raiza, Rafael, and Mirella Rodriguez. She leaves behind several relatives and friends who will remember her as a person with a contagious laugh and whose presence lit the room with a positive, joyous energy. Her creativity drew smiles on everyone around her.
 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Xiomara’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.

Xiomara Rodriguez de Blanco fallecio el Jueves 9 de Enero del 2024 a la edad de 77 anos.

Ella será recordada por su bondad, su alegria, y su amor hacia su familia y seres queridos. Tambien por el carisma y amor que tenía por los niños el cual transmitia a sus alumnos.

Ella se graduo de maestra de primaria en Caracas en 1967, y continuo sus estudios en educacion en la Universidad Nacional Abierta mientras trabajaba como maestra en diferentes escuelas de Caracas. En el 2000, continuo sus estudios en la Universidad Central de Venezuela y en el 2005 obtuvo el titulo de licenciada en Educacion. Xiomara y su esposo immigraron a Canada en el 2016 para estar cerca de una de sus hijas, Aljulie, su yerno Wild, y sus nietos.

A Xiomara la extrañarán profundamente su esposo Luis Alfredo Blanco, con el que estuvo casado por 54 anos, sus dos hijas Aljulie y Lizmar Blanco, sus dos nietos Victoria y Wild Alexander Guevara, sus dos yernos Ivan David Bernal y Wild Alfredo Guevara. 

También la extrañarán sus hermanos Francisco, Livia, Marbella, Ivonne, Haide, Rolando, Yola, Lizbeth, Luis Alejandro, y Raquel Rodríguez.  

Xiomara se unirá a sus fallecidos padres Francisco Rodríguez y Felicidad Martínez de Rodríguez, así como a sus hermanos y hermanas Jasmina, Raiza, Rafael, y Mirella Rodríguez. 

Xiomara sera recordada por sus conocidos y amigos como una persona con risa contagiosa y cuya presencia avivava cualquier lugar con energia positive y jubilosa. Su creatividad dibujaba una sonrisa a todos lo que estaban a su alrededor.

El servicio funerario se llevara acabo en McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) el domingo 21 de Enero del 2024, at 1:00 p.m. seguida por una reception en el centro de Hospitalidad de la casa funeraria.

Los familiares y amigos que no puedan asistir en persona están invitados a unirse al servicio de Xiomara transmitido en vivo (ver a continuación) el día del servicio. Para aquellos que no puedan verlo en vivo, se publicará una grabación del servicio.
