Obituary of Margaret June Pocock (nee Knights)

May 17, 1957 – Ottawa, Ontario

Jan 7, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Margaret passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

She will be forever missed by her husband Rod; son Adam (Candace) Pocock; and her daughter Lindsay (Neil) Huber. Her grandchildren, Jeremy, Avery, Ivy and Holly were the apple of her eye and you would see Marg smile every time “Nanny” was called. Margaret is also survived by her sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Taylor and Sandra (Scott) Risebrough; brother Richard (Christine) Knights; as well as many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Marg loved her 30+ year career as a Junior/Senior High School Social Studies teacher. She was dedicated to her students’ success.

Every summer vacation Marg, Rod, Adam and Lindsay would go on their camping adventure visiting a variety of places but always finishing with a 2-3 week stay in Penticton with friends and extended family. These adventures continued right up to and included Summer 2023 when the grandkids joined them on the sunny Okanagan beaches.

Marg and Rod have always felt blessed to have the greatest group of friends. Rod, Adam and Lindsay want you all to know how much your friendship, love and support means to them. They know your hearts are broken too but hope you will reminisce and smile often when you think of Marg.

Above all, Margaret was all about family. The love she had for Rod, Adam’s and Lindsay’s families was evident each and every day.   Marg loved to organize and host family events for both the Knights and Pocock families. They were simply the best. Oh how we will miss her twinkling blue eyes, her smile, and the love she showed each one of us.

Love you forever Margaret.
