Obituary of Brent Fraser

Brent Fraser passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the age of 67 years. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Elizabeth and together they shared a loving marriage for 42 years. A supportive father, he was always incredibly proud of his three boys.

Brent received a B.Eng and B.Sc from Dalhousie University, and an MBA from the University of Calgary. He loved his 37-year career with Shell Canada, which included living and working in England, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and Qatar. The family enjoyed many wonderful trips together during those years. In his retirement, he was a member of the Shell Oiltimers Club and dedicated his time to volunteer work with the Scarboro Planning Committee.

In his free time, Brent enjoyed being active by running, biking, swimming, and walking his beagle Jasper. He also had a love for theatre productions, and frequent visits to Tim Hortons, Swiss Chalet, Phil’s restaurant, and a good buffet.

Brent will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his witty sense of humour and his ability to light up a dance floor.

Besides his loving wife Elizabeth, Brent is survived by his three sons, Adam (Emily), Andrew (Ashley), and David; and his sisters, Sandra and Wenda. Brent was predeceased by his parents John Donald and Isabella, and his brother Ian.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Masks are encouraged to be worn for the service.
