Obituary of Peter Arthur Dane Baily

December 24, 1950 – Montreal, Quebec

February 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Peter Arthur Dane Baily passed away at Chinook Care Centre Hospice on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 73 years.

Peter was born in Montreal, QC, the youngest of four children. He married Helen Baily on April 29, 2008, later having two children, a son Theo and daughter Tanis.

After graduating from Vanier College with a degree in Air Conditioning Engineering, Peter accepted his father’s challenge to move to the western part of Canada for better job opportunities and was fortunate to be hired as a Project Manager at ARPIS, where he worked for 41 years. He was a great mentor not just at work, but also to his kids. Peter was passionate about art and paintings, and took great pleasure in dancing, fishing, gardening, and traveling with Helen. Peter’s famous saying was “Happy Wife; Happy Life”.

He was also a lover of music and played saxophone during his younger years. Peter enjoyed his summers by spending most of his time with Helen in their garden, which gives a peaceful and natural ambiance.

His memory and love will be cherished and remain as a wonderful gift. He will always be treasured and remembered by his wife Helen Baily, son Theo Baily, daughter Tanis Baily, and sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Phil Obendorf.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
