Obituary of Michael Lorne Kosack

December 17, 1939 – Selkirk, Manitoba

February 19, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Michael Lorne Kosack of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the South Health Campus in Calgary, AB, at the age of 84 years, after a long and hard-fought battle with heart issues.

 

Lorne is survived by his long-time love of his life, dancing partner, and traveling companion, Judy Gerard of Calgary, AB, son Aaron Kosack, daughter-in-law Tracy Kosack, granddaughters Abby Kosack and Jenna Kosack, all of Calgary, AB; son Mike Kosack of Mackay, Queensland, Australia, sisters Sylvia Sweetland (Bob) of Winnipeg, MB, and Charlene Dusyk of Regina, SK; and his brother Garry Kosack of Calgary, AB. Lorne is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and plenty of good friends. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Olga Kosack; sister Sharon Kosack, and brother-in-law Gordon Dusyk.

 

The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals at Unit 68 at South Health Campus Calgary for their great care.

 

Funeral Services will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road N.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
