Karen Robineau (nee Powell) of Oakville, ON, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 75 years in Calgary, AB, where she had been residing since July 2023.

Karen was born in Wingham, ON, on July 24, 1948, and spent her youth on her family farm with her mother Joyce Powell (nee White) and her father T. Edward Powell (both deceased).

Besides her loving husband Roger, Karen is survived by her son Steven, daughter Kathy (Shane), and two beautiful grandchildren, Ty and Kit. Karen is also survived by her brother Tom and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Karen was predeceased by her three sisters, Rosalind (Rosie), Susie and Marjorie.

Karen, an Ontario Scholar (1967), graduated from Guelph University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science. She was a lifelong learner and enjoyed reading books and was always helping her family advance their education. Her support was instrumental in helping her children and grandchildren be set up for success in life and they will be forever grateful.

Karen married Roger Robineau in 1977 and had two children, Kathy Robineau (Fergusson) and Steven Robineau, and two grandchildren, Ty and Kit Fergusson. Family was everything to Karen. Her focus was always on spending time with her immediate family during holidays like Christmas and Easter, and she also enjoyed going on family vacations. Her favourite spots to visit were Florida (sitting on the porch at Magic Kingdom) and going out to the mountains to visit Banff or Jasper.

Karen had a great love for all kinds of tea, Queen Elizabeth, Winnie the Pooh, reading, crossword puzzles and collecting bear figurines. She really enjoyed going out for afternoon tea and going out shopping with the children and grandchildren.
