Condolences
To my brother ...
Still can't believe you are gone! I will miss our phone calls. I always learned something new from you. Your knowledge of so many topics was interesting and informative.
I remember when I first started working in Vancouver and flew home to Rossland for Thanksgiving. You and Brenda had also gone to Rossland for the weekend. Dave was just a baby. We had a great time. When it was time to leave I found out my flight was cancelled cause of the weather. You suggested I drive back to Calgary with you and Brenda and fly from Calgary to Vancouver. Worked beautifully! I was back in Vancouver later that night.
I also remember when we were kids we always looked up to you and were so proud of you when you went off to university and ended up as a geophysicist.
Till we all meet again!
Love Lynne and family
I remember my nephew, Dougie as a quiet, studious young man who was always up in his room with his books and dog by his side. His grandmother would always have to coax him downstairs to have one of her treats that she used to always bring up to her grandkids when we visited. His demeanor was always calm, cool and collected, much like his Mom's. Being the eldest I think he was a great brother and leader for the rest of his siblings to follow. He was always a pleasure to baby sit like all my nieces and nephews. I have only fond memories of Dougie and I know that he is at peace.
Love,
Auntie Barbara and Uncle Paul.
You will be deeply missed by our family
I remember coming with my parents to ur place to visit you and Brenda and Lori it's was great memories and having laughs and coffee on the back deck in the summer
Love the grant family ❤️❤️

We first met Doug when he had his dog Bailey, and became good friends. Such good friends that the 3 of us could laugh about our colonoscopies
and compare notes!
Doug we will miss our afternoon visits,
we solved the world's problems, however the powers that be never heard us.
When I made a big batch of soup I asked Doug if he wanted French onion soup or Hamburger soup he said to me " I'll take whatever you give me". There was a smile on his face when I gave him both.
Doug was an encyclopedia of knowledge especially when it came to El niño and
La niña. We would always learn something on his afternoon visits .
Doug, we will miss you dearly and we will cherish our fond memories of you.
Doug was a friend and roommate from the UBC days. Kind of lost touch in our later years. Peace be the journey Doug, happy fishing.

Doug was a well-known resident of our Canyon Meadows Community. If not known specifically by name, he was known by all of us dog owners as the gentleman who taxied around his 10 pound furry princess- Bella. They were inseparable.
We first met Doug while walking our own dog and soon became friends. Whether it was going for walks or bike rides, watching movies, or discussing politics, we enjoyed each other's company.
Whenever we star gaze or watch the sunset from Parkland we will think fondly of Doug. He will be missed.
Avalo and I will miss your regular visits and the multi-topics we covered. I thought we had more time but…. My hope is that this next journey is a good on

Doug was 10 years my senior, so most of my memories began during in my mid teens.
Being the eldest of 10 kids, Mom and Dad said Doug was instrumental in looking after us younger kids — I’m sure that was no easy task. Mitzie, our family dog would be over the moon when Doug returned from UBC — she never left his side. Doug loved to fish, and recall him returning from Watchan with many bountiful catches with brother Gary and Dad.
Doug and Brenda always made sure I was ok when attending Mount Royal College in Calgary, which gave me much comfort.
Doug alway loved camping trips full of adventure and fun with family and friends — everyone always had a blast. It was always interesting to hear his scientific view on a multitude of subjects. My last fond memory was a family reunion last summer — who would have thought that would be the last for Doug. You will be missed….peace be with you.

Dad I will go on living my life missing everything about you. Our camping trips, walking our dogs, the many times you came to watch your granddaughters, and our many phone conversations. I know I’m a stronger person having had you as my dad.
I can’t believe you are not here….
Love you dad
Your daughter Lori
