Dear Dick,
Our deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved Marie. She was an amazing person and we have many loving memories of her that will live on.
Marie's kind and beautiful smile made us feel so good and welcome and we couldn't wait for another coaction or Christmas dinners to see her and listen to her stories about their recent trips and how their grandkids are growing up so fast and all those beautiful pictures she always shared with pride and true happiness that reflected in her eyes when she was talking about them.
Wishing you and your family peace and comfort in these difficult days and may her soul rest in peace.
Farzin & Farideh

I was devastated to hear the sad news of Marie’s untimely death. I first met Dick, Marie and the boys shortly after I got transferred to Calgary in late 1993 with my wife Libby and our two young sons. I dealt with Dick through our automotive connections and was truly impressed by his welcoming and gregarious personality. Once I got a chance to meet Marie it was easy to see that they seemed to be a perfect match for one another.
Early on, Dick was kind enough to invite my family out to a Sunday dim sum lunch at a great downtown Calgary location. This was a first for our family and Dick & Marie quickly and confidently ordered up some fantastic food that all of us enjoyed thoroughly. Not a small feat considering the most exotic food my boys had eaten to that point was chicken nuggets. Since then my sons have both moved overseas to London, England and Sydney, Australia respectively for their careers. On my recent visits to both of them we went for some wonderful meals which of course included plenty of great Chinese food. The nice thing is that my boys have learned to appreciate food from everywhere in the world; chicken nuggets are long gone from their menus.
That is just one example of the enduring imprint that Marie and Dick left upon us. However the bigger lesson we learned was that life can be so enriched when you meet great people and share some time with them. I will always cherish those moments that we spent together!
We will miss you Marie but your spirit remains with us. Be kind to others and life will be good!
