Obituary of Gerald Martin Galloway

March 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Gerry Galloway, beloved husband of Violet Galloway, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 88 years.

Gerry was born in Edmonton, raised in Vancouver, and moved to Calgary approximately fifty years ago. He worked for Woodwards until he left there to begin his own business, Comfort Waterbeds. He loved woodworking, carving, and painting.

Besides his loving wife, Violet, Gerry is survived by his daughters, Laurel (Rob) and Karyn (Richard); sons, Stephen (Johane) and Andrew (Michelle); grandchildren, Amanda (Joel), Cody (Nichole), Richard, Kristopher, Emilie (Matt), and Dominique; brother Regan Galloway, as well as many other family members.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Galloway’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Millrise Seniors Village LTC for the care and compassion they showed Gerry during his stay there.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
