Obituary of Sherman Harold Rabbit

August 31, 1978 – Calgary, AB

March 16, 2024 – Morley, AB

It is is with sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Sherman Rabbit, who was called home by our Creator on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 45 years.

He received his education at Morley Community School. As a child, he was brought up with traditional values and he loved hunting. He also loved participating in ceremonies and sweat lodges. He was an outdoorsman. He loved his sons and was proud to become a grandpa.

Sherman is survived by his sons, Sage and Fredrick; sisters, Myrna, and Trina Rabbit; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; uncles Virgile, Audley (Tilda) Stephens, Harvey (Delphine) Rabbit, and Jeffrey (Evelyn) Hunter; aunties, Phillomene, Tracey Stevens, Barbra Hunter, Amy, Bryleen, and Sheila Labbele.

Sherman was predeceased by both his parents, Harold Stevens and Mildred Baptist; his sister, Retillia; his paternal grandparents, John and Nora Stevens; maternal grandparents, Nelson and Flora Rabbit; nephews, “Torrance Rabbit” and William Rabbit.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of the grandparents at the Chiniki Lake Road (Mînî Thnî, AB), on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Mînî Thnî, AB), on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Mînî Thnî, AB).
