Obituary of Janice Elaine Walker

Janice Elaine Walker (née Fulton) passed away at the age of 69 years on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Born in Vermilion, AB, on November 19, 1954, Janice was a farm girl at heart and grew up as the middle of three kids.

Following her graduation from high school, Janice pursued her passion for nursing, earning a diploma from the University of Alberta, which laid the groundwork for her four-decade career. She began her journey in High Level and Edmonton before settling in Calgary, where she furthered her education, earning a nursing degree from the University of Calgary.

For over 30 years, Janice dedicated herself to the High River General Hospital, where she started in the maternity unit, helping to bring new lives into the world. Later, she transitioned to the emergency unit, where she played a vital role in saving lives. Outside of work, Janice found joy in traveling alongside her sister, Joan, baking delicious banana bread for her children and grandchildren, and watching her favorite sports, including curling, hockey, and baseball. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like afternoon naps in the sun.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Fulton; and will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Joan (Bob) Fulton, brother, John (Shelley) Fulton, four children, Scott (Heidi) England, David England, Maureen Nichols, and Donald Walker; as well as her four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Quinn, Harlow, and Max.

At Janice’s request, no service will be held.
