Obituary of Gerald Ray GAUTHIER

April 11, 1924 – Grand Cascapedia, Quebec September 5, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta Gerald Joseph Gauthier, Flames fanatic, supplier of cookies, patriot, and keeper of the flame passed away after a brief illness on Friday September 5, 2014 at the age of 90 years. He married the love of his life, Peggy Forrester, a postal worker he met in Bournemouth, England during WWII. They lived a happy and full life until Peggy passed twenty one years ago. He had a life-long love affair with rye bread and cold cuts, Viva Puffs, steak, spaghetti and meat sauce. He took extreme pride in his family; his six children Patricia Gauthier (Duke – deceased), Linda Kramer (Ken), Michael Gauthier (Janet), Raymond Gauthier (Rochelle), Dianne Cruxton (Bob), and Suzanne Wilson (Lanny); eight grandchildren Paula, Laura, Geoff, Marnie, Colette, Shannon, Zoe and Brandon; and nine great-grandchildren Nicholas, Johnny, Ava, Mia, Linnea, Torsten, Alexandr, Emolie and Jacob. As a former WWII vet he would often beguile us with his accounts of places and the happenings of the war. We could never get enough of these stories and could see the sense of pride in his eyes. You will be greatly missed, Father, Grandfather, Great- Grandfather and friend. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
