Obituary of Mary Elizabeth WASHINGTON-STOFLE

April 4, 1921 – Birmingham, Alabama September 4, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta Mary Washington-Stofle of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the age of 93 years. Mary was a Master School Teacher for thirty years and a dedicated Toastmaster who took up story telling as a vocation soon after retirement. Mary was a regular performer at the Calgary International Spoken Word Festival and had a special passion for impromptu dance. Mary is survived by two sons, Ed Washington and Michael Love Santee; four grandchildren, Omar, Sierra, Sasha and Gabriel and one great-grandson Ezekiel; brother Charles Washington and sister Fleata Osborne as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several husbands. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service at Queen’s Park Cemetery on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. (meet at the cemetery entrance).
