As your next door neighbour and fellow 78 Ave/Rio Terrace pioneer in Edmonton, my fondest memories of you and your family are my 60+ year friendship with Kathleen, cats, dogs, horses, girl guides, choir and your smile. A fun memory is of your volkswagen beetle and the work it took to get it warmed up and cleared in Edmonton winters. I now enjoy reflecting on what a personal statement that little car must have been for you as a woman in a family of 6. A lesson that you helped teach me (and I presume many others) is the value and importance of community building through volunteering. We thrive when everyone pitches in, like you showed us.
