Obituary of Carol Douglas

January 24, 1934 - Montreal, Quebec

April 4, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Carol Douglas, beloved wife of Hal Douglas, passed away at AgeCare Glenmore on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 90 years of age.

Carol was born and raised in Montreal and that is where she met her husband, Hal. They were married in 1954 and moved to a few different cities before landing in Calgary in 1973. By then they had four daughters who kept them both very busy. In Calgary, they found their church home with St. Andrew's United. Carol was committed to the church and loved singing in the church choir and playing handbells. She also helped out with church functions and was on various committees. Carol was also very active with the Girl Guides of Canada and was in different positions from Brownie Leader right up to Commissioner. She was with the organization for over 60 years! By the early '90s, she had seven grandchildren and held many family dinners with all of them at the table. Carol loved to travel with Hal and they took many trips over the years. Their favorite spot to go was Maui, Hawaii.

Carol was predeceased by her husband Hal and her grandson Kenny. Carol is survived by her children, Alison, Cindy, Heather, and Kathleen (Stan); and grandchildren, Jason, Brittany (Trevor), Rya (James), Hannah (Bryson), Cordell, and Kaevin (Madison).

A Celebration of Life will be held for Carol at Fish Creek United Church (77 Deer Point Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
