Condolences
I am truly saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. I remember the first day I met Dan and partied into the early morning with him during Stampede week in the early 70’s. That day came a phrase we laughed about for many years; “NO Deviations!” He had a lush beard at the time if memory serves me. Dan’s friendship never waned over the years and he was diligent to maintain contact. I shared many laughs with both Dan and Linda over the years and much political bashing with Dan.
RIP Dan.
Eleanor and I were shocked and saddened by the news of Dannys passing.
Our sincere condolences to you Cathy, and the Martin family.
My heart smiles when I think back on his friendship over the many years.
Dear Linda,
We were so very sad to hear of Danny's passing. Trav, Stace and I have such fond memories of Danny, his humour, kindness, and his love for life, family and friends. It truly is such a loss. My heart breaks for yours. However terribly hard this is for you, know that your many friends (and family) are there for you. Sending our deepest sympathy.

Dearest Linda, Donna, Billy and all the other Martin’s. Danny was such a great guy. He always had such a cheerful smile and kind heart. I remember many many years ago, my boyfriend at the time and I asked Danny if we could stay with him and Linda in Calgary. We didn’t have much money then and they welcomed us with such warmth and love. Feeding us delicious meals, showing us around and offering us a warm bed. I also have many fond memories of Danny coming to visit my beloved father. Danny always came with stories, and made dad laugh. Danny loved fo laugh. He loved life. I may have never told Danny enough how much his visits with dad meant to me. For dad to see a familiar face as he grew old made for a wonderful day. He would talk about Danny’s visits for weeks. Thank you Danny for all you did for me and my family. You were truly one of a kind and taken from us much too soon. I know you were greeted with open arms in heaven from your parents and mine. Sending love and hugs to beautiful Linda, my loving sister Donna, and my wonderful brother Billy and all the Martin’s who we have known and loved for years. Joanie & Bernie McLean

My dearest closest sibling Dan. Our history is a long one, memories many from the earliest young years on Crichton Street delivering newspapers to earn a few nickels freezing our legs off and laughing all the way home to the wood stove!
My heart is broken as we just moved to Calgary to rekindle the years apart physically. I will love you always.
Your forever big sister…Donna
Linda and all the Martin family;
Words are not enough to express my profound sadness.
Danny (and Linda) have been my friends for many, many years and I loved their hospitality and Dan’s cooking whenever I visited Calgary. In the early days in Ottawa and Jasper, we shared a lot of shenanigans, and good times! He will be dearly missed.
My heartfelt condolences to Linda, and all his family. I remember the younger boys from the Boys Club on Nepean where I worked reception and later was a counsellor.
Be comforted by all the wonderful memories you all shared,.
Much Love
Cheri
Dear Linda,
We are shocked and saddened to learn of Danny's sudden death. We hadn't seen him for many years but our memories are fond and strong. He always saw the humour in a situation. He was a great guy and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. The obituary is beautiful and I know what a deep bond you and Danny shared. True love.
Sending our deepest condolences to you and Danny's family.
Sincerely,
Heather and Rob Burpee, Vancouver
