Dan was an exemplary father, a bubble of joy, a jokester, a loving husband, and an amazing person to everyone he met. He was someone that I believe understood what true happiness was, and his happiness was contagious. Every time we saw him, he would have a joke to crack, or a way to make you smile. He was someone that loved culture, and from just a year of living in another country embraced its language and traditions in a way that even people from there couldn’t do. He was more Venezuelan than some Venezuelans I know. I admired that about him, his ability to understand and connect with people that he otherwise wouldn’t have much in common with. Thank you Dan for all the amazing memories and for shining your light on the world, even if it was for a short time. We’ll miss you all, and we love you.
