Condolences
We are so glad to have known Rudy while he and Ann lived in Edmonton and attended Greenfield Community Church. Rudy lived a life filled with grace, a wonderful laugh and he always had an interesting story to share. Rudy was a mentor and leader to many people, me (Rachel) included, and I am so thankful for the love that Rudy poured into so many people. We send our condolences to you Ann at this time of great loss in your life. We love you dearly. Rachel and Art de Leon
It was a great pleasure and honour to spend a short time with Rudy. Jeff kentel
Back in 1988 we moved to Calgary and early in our time here got to know Rudy, Ann and their family. They became very good friends and through time, because of Jeff and Andrea, we became family. Many a time since then when Rudy would introduce us he would say “these are good friends of ours and we share a set of kids”.
Over the years we have shared so many wonderful times from evenings together, weekend getaways, trips and of course the annual summer holidays at the Shuswap. Memories we shall cherish forever.
Rudy, God has taken you home and we praise him for his grace but it has left each of us with a void in our hearts. The good news is that void is enclosed in all the wonderful memories we have made together as family and we have the assurance, by faith, that we too will be reunited with you as part of our heavenly family and once again share our friendship and our kids and grandkids.
Ann, in Prov 31:10-12 it says “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” Rudy found just such a one to share his life with and you and your family have been a true example of that scripture being lived out. We hold you and the family in our prayers and stand by ready to help and support all of you in any way we can.
God bless you and may His grace be with you,
Doug & Noreen Stewart
PS. “Rudy, don’t have too much fun before we get there”.
Ann & Rudy welcomed us with open arms & incredible kindness to our “new church” 40 plus years ago. Our children grew up together with many summers in the camp ground & Cabins in Salmon Arm. The memories created with the Dyck family will always be treasured. Rudy was an advocate for the kids regardless, of their age or what they got up to. Most likely he helped them in the midst of their schemes.
Both Rudy & Ann have exemplified Christ’s command to love one another as He has loved us. Without a shadow of a doubt on Monday morning, Rudy heard: “well done good & faithful servant”. He has fought the fight, he has finished the race, he has won the prize.
With our deepest sympathy & much love to all the family, Bill & Marg Cumberlin.
We have been blessed to have the Dyck Family as our friends for over 40 years. What treasured memories we cherish. Our love and prayers are with you Ann, Kevin and Jeff and Family.
Condolences to the family. Rudy was a friend, gentleman and a great soul.
So very sorry to hear of Rudys passing. Loved having Anne & Rudy as neighbours in Windermere for several years. Big hugs to Anne & family. From Rayanne Forbes.
We were fortunate to have Rudy and Anne as our neighbours for almost a dozen years in Ambleside of Edmonton....and adored both of them. Every single connection was wonderful as Rudy and I chatted about motorcycles, travel, music, 'people' while Anne constantly was checking up on my daughter Rayanne (Graves Disease) and/or our grandchild Liam. I called them the King and Queen of the cul de sac as they sat so beautifully out on their front door step looking more like frisky teenagers than 'mature' folks like the rest of us on our street. Their yard would have won a prize year after year for the meticulous care that Anne provided not only on their property but along the connecting sidewalk down to the park. The Forbes Family was sad to hear of Rudy's passing and share our love for Anne and the rest of the Family. We were indeed 'blessed' by our time with them both...and Rudy will be sorely missed!
