Vincenzo Pepe, affectionately known as Vince, lived a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. His journey began in Teramo, Italy, on April 14, 1944, and led him to Okotoks, AB, where he peacefully passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

Vince’s legacy is one of dedication, resilience, and joy. His impressive 42-year career in the meat processing industry reflects an unwavering commitment to excellence. Outside of his professional life, Vince found peace and joy on the golf greens, sharing laughs and good times with close friends. He also treasured every moment spent at his beloved second home in Palm Springs, a personal haven for rest and rejuvenation.

Family was Vince’s greatest treasure. He adored his wife, Sherill, and was a loving father to John and Laurel. His four grandchildren, Sean, Rio, Sophia, and Seraphina held a special place in his heart. Vince’s siblings, Carlo, Brian, Rosa, Maria, and Lydia were part of his close-knit family circle.

In heaven, Vince reunites with his parents, Luigi and Serafina. Their warmth and kindness live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to know him.

In accordance with Vince’s wishes, there will be no public service or viewing.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca., or to an animal charity of choice. Vince’s compassion for “fur kids” exemplified his compassion.

“The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.”
