Condolences
Our most heartfelt condolences to the Matthews family. Auntie Ruth was the last surviving sibling from a family of fourteen children of parents Ben & Cynthia DUNN. Ben was a homesteader in Southern Alberta in 1908, married Cynthia in 1910 and first born was Uncle Jake in 1911. Thus evolving into a very large family of children and their respective spouses, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and so on.
Forever remembered.
Ritchie DUNN (nephew - son of Alvin) and family.
Mom … Ruthie … she truly was the best Mother In Law.
We shared laughter, tears, secrets and shenanigans … we were thankful for each other … we were Friends.
There were many games of crib and Chinese checkers around the kitchen table and with that, there was a LOT of amaretto drank … very often late into the night! Mom was the champion, as many of you know, even if her opponents mirrored every move of her marbles in Chinese checkers she would still inevitably win.
I teased her that the only way I could ever have a chance of winning a game was to get her tipsy on the amaretto … it’s a funny thing but SOMEHOW I was always the one with the headache the next day and she still won the game!!
I’ll remember Mom as always having a grateful heart and a positive outlook, she was kind … she was generous … she didn’t judge and she truly loved her Family and her Friends.
Godspeed Mom … you are missed by many … I love you infinity … wendy ♥️♥️♥️
