Condolences
I agree with the comments of many here. Kurt was a genuine man of God, who truly cared for others. I had the privilege of being his roommate for a time. We shared many times of laughter and stories. Sometimes I would open up about the struggles I was having and Kurt was kind and caring. I especially enjoyed our times of laughter. I remember many stories he told me about working with his Dad in their funeral home, he especially liked to see the hair rise up on my neck. I remember riding around in the station wagon he came to Calgary in. He was telling me stories about driving his Dads hearse. I asked him what that was like while the hair was standing up on my neck, and Kurt said, “You tell me, you’re in it right now.” I almost jumped out of the car right then and there! Lol! Kurt had a great sense of humour and caring personality. I was truly blessed to know him.
I am so grateful to have gotten to know Kurt while working together this year. He had an infectious smile and would always make the time to say hello and have a genuine engaged conversation. In speaking to his team and other colleagues I have learned how universally respected and appreciated he was. He is missed
Radica, McCaw family, please accept my deepest, heartfelt condolences. I have many fond memories of Kurt at New Life. Kurt was a top notch guy and I can only imagine the loving and caring father he was. May God truly comfort you in this time and may your memories sustain you until you meet again.
With love and prayers Naomi
I had the very good fortune to work with Kurt since 2020 and, whether it be work related or casual conversation about this-or-that in the corridor, every interaction with him was truly a real joy, He always took the time to talk and listen with genuine interest, always with positivity and enthusiasm, always with a smile.
My condolences to the family, he will be greatly missed.
I have known Kurt for a couple of years but only started working with him since January this year, he was great to have on the team as he was always positive and keen to find solutions. He was a wonderful leader; very approachable, open minded and able to get the best from his team. I will always remember his beaming smile and enthusiastic greetings on every Teams call. His positivity and enthusiasm were inspirational to all.
Thank you for all you did Kurt you are missed.
I knew Kurt since 2019, so had the blessing to work with him for a relative short while only. Kurt impressed on so many levels but amongst all, his connection with his staff, the team around him and even those he had worked rather loosely was what stood out the most to me. As said many times before here, he was always genuinely positive and he truly listened to people, both of which made working with him so memorable. He is missed as leader, as colleague and as a friend. Thx for all you did Kurt and thx for who you were! My deepest condolences to his family, I hope you all can find back your smiles soon.
kurt was a welcoming gentleman, as my family moved to our new house we surprised by doorbell, kurt and Radica were on the door step welcoming us with greeting card in hand.
Since that day we consider Kurt and his family is our family.
we will never forget Kurt and our condolences to his family.
I have many memories of Kurt as we served together at RC for 10+ years. I would have to say for me one of his more beautiful qualities was his gentle spirit. I can remember when our son Jacob was born with DS and needed to be on O2 for the first 13 months of his life. Every Saturday at RC, Kurt could be seen walking with him in his arms, oxygen tanks in tow; as my wife and I practiced with the band.
My heart aches for you the McCaw family who remain...Radica, Racheal, Samuel, Caleb & Joshua...your dad was an exceptional man, and a dear friend for the time that I knew him!!
We recently shared the news of Kurt's passing with our children sitting around the table, each one reflecting on knowing your family and remembering your kindness to us.
Kurt took me under his wing since the moment I joined BH. His keen insight and support guided me through my professional journey. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunities he provided. Beyond professional guidance, Kurt was a caring and compassionate individual. He valued the wellbeing of those around him. He always made time to listen, offering words of encouragement and a helping hand whenever needed. Kurt's generosity, humor, and wisdom left an indelible mark on everyone fortunated enough to have known him. Thank you Kurt for everything. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
I was lucky enough to work with Kurt and I have truly enjoyed all our conversations together about work related topics and running. His warmth and friendliness made a significant impact on everyone he met. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. His legacy of kindness will always be remembered.
My prayers are with your family. I never got to talk with him much about his love for the Lord but am grateful he had it. Kurt will be truly missed here at work but most of all to those who got to know him for his humourous attitude and enjoyment for life. Until the Lord comes or the Lord calls us home may Kurt forever be in our memories!
I extend my deepest sympathies to the family. I had the privilege of working under Kurt for over 3 years. He was a dedicated and approachable manager who truly cared about his team. His presence will be greatly missed.
I was fortunate enough to have worked with Kurt at Baker Hughes. He was always ready to offer a friendly smile and a sympathetic ear. I will miss his quick wit and ready laughter. Peace be with you Kurt.
Kurt was one of the most joyful people I’ve ever met. He was always ready for a smile and a kind word. A gentleman in every sense, he always showed such chivalry towards all women, but especially his loving wife. Kurt also had a lovely sense and style and would often dress to match his wife’a attire. This was always a treat to see. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
I worked under Kurt for only a few months. Although I am on a different continent and never met him in person, his impact was so positive and kind that his sudden loss has saddened us all deeply. My condolences to his family.
I am grateful to work with Kurt through the difficult time of the epidemic. Kurt is a great people leader, technical guru and tireless co-worker. I wish Kurt peach and comfort.
