Obituary of Kurt James McCaw

September 8, 1964 – Lloydminster, Saskatchewan

June 25, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Kurt McCaw, beloved husband of Radica McCaw (nee Rambaran) of Calgary, AB, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the age of 59 years.

Kurt was born on September 8, 1964, in Lloydminster, SK. He relocated to Calgary, AB in 1987, following his graduation from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Computer Science.

While attending a church in Calgary and growing in his love for the Lord, it was there that he met Radica in 1988. They were married two years later, in 1990.

Kurt had many accomplishments throughout his life but was particularly proud of his four children and was always an active participant in their lives. He loved any opportunity to spend time with them, especially if it was over a shared meal.

He was an avid runner and enjoyed any chance to be out in nature. Kurt loved the mountains which was a big influence on his move to Calgary. He particularly loved being out in the mountains with his grand puppies, Rikki and Remi. He loved reading and learning, and had a passion for personal growth, wanting to be the best example for his children and partner to his wife.

Kurt will be most remembered for his kindness and easygoing nature. He had the best sense of humour and loved being able to share a laugh with everyone he interacted with. He also had such a love for people and always had a way of making you feel lighter after being in his presence.

Besides his loving wife, Radica, Kurt is survived by his daughter, Racheal, and his three sons, Samuel, Caleb and Joshua; his father and stepmother, Dave and Linda McCaw; and his parents-in-law, Eddie and Rosa Rambaran.

Kurt is also survived by his three older brothers and sisters-in-law, and one stepbrother and sister-in-law, Reg (Chris), Mark (Jodi), Glenn (Doreen) and Doug (Fran); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Kurt was predeceased by his mother, Agnes, brother Dale, and stepsister Kathy.
