Alfred had a deep reverence for the institution of the church. He showed his respect for church meetings by always being well dressed in a suit and tie. He would come to church with his wife almost every Sunday and always enter the west doors of the First Alliance Church. I would often be there to greet Alfred and his wife, being responsible for greeting people as they came. One day in the fall about ten years ago, during the NFL football playoffs I chose to wear a Green Bay Packers jersey to church. When Alfred walked in that Sunday he immediately scorned me for my irreverence to the church. Of course in a kind manner.

Alfred was a very gentle mannered person; a soft caring voice and kind.

I give thanks to God for the strong Christian witness he was to me during the relatively short time I had the pleasure.
