Obituary of Maureen Denise HILL

July 20, 1928 – Expanse, SK August 8, 2014 – Calgary, AB Maureen Hill of Calgary passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 86 years, after a brief illness. Maureen graduated from the Regina General Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She was active in the Nurses Alumni throughout her life and volunteered with numerous local charities. Maureen was extremely active throughout her life and will be remembered for her fondness for golf, football, especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and travel. She also loved crossword puzzles and bridge. She forged many strong bonds with friends of all ages. Maureen is survived by three children: Diane Hill Newman (Charles) of Bermuda, Karen Hill (Todd Anderson) of Calgary and Whitefish, MT, and John Hill (Pornjit Arunyakanon) of Bangkok, Thailand; grandson Rhys Hill Newman of Toronto; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years Donald Hill. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
