I was very sorry to hear of Rogers passing.

I hadn’t seen him in many years, but have good memories of him.

He was my hockey Coach for 4 years, when I was in my teens. He was a tough, but really good coach. He wanted the best from us, and he made us want to give it. He taught me a lot of lessons, and not just about hockey. I’m actually surprised how often I’ve thought about him over the years, and what I’ve learned from him. He was a bigger influence on me than he probably knew. I regret I never had the opportunity to tell him so.

I’m grateful to have known him, and to have had his influence, and I’m sure all my teammates felt the same way.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
