Obituary of Roger Keith Coppock

January 25, 1949 – Hamilton, Ontario

July 14, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Roger Coppock of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 75 years. He left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

 

Roger is survived by his three sons, David, Derrald, and Derek. He also leaves behind his siblings, Susan Marino, Michael, Wayne (Julia), and Shelley Schneidmiller (Shayne); along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

 

Roger was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Doreen Coppock; and his niece Tina.

 

In his earlier years, Roger enjoyed coaching hockey and found joy in taking trail rides and spending time with his family. A proud participant in the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Olympics, he embraced life’s adventures with enthusiasm and grace.

 

Roger had a special place in his heart for his dogs and had a passion for raising and showing his beloved Tennessee Walker horses on his beautiful acreage in Priddis, AB. His home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, always open to friends and family. Nieces and nephews fondly recall many fun times spent swimming in their uncle’s pool and visiting his majestic horses.

 

Roger’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and dedication to those he held dear. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
