On Monday, August 5, 2024, our dearest family member and friend Cheryl Thompson, passed away at Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB.
Strong to the end, Cheryl will be greatly missed by her life partner Wayne Hawkes, his children, April Hawkes and Lucas Hawkes; her brother Richard Thompson, and nieces, Karly Thompson (Matthew Macapagal) and Emily Thompson (Glenn Harasym), and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Joan; sister Susan, and sister-in-law Diane.
Cheryl grew up in Calgary, AB, and moved to BC, eventually settling in Dawson City, YT, where she worked for many years in the museum and courts. Cheryl loved travelling to Melaque, Mexico, with Wayne and her beloved dog Jasper; she had many special friends there and in Dawson City, YT. A gifted artisan, her beautiful beadwork will be treasured by all.
Always kind and compassionate, Cheryl continued supporting Fish4Kenya, started by her Yukon fish biologist sister Susan for many years, making a difference in uncounted people's lives.
