Obituary of Ron Selensky

July 26, 1947 – Kincaid, Saskatchewan

August 12, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Ronald Selensky of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the age of 77 years, at the Foothills Hospital with his loving partner Rosemary by his side.

Ronald was born in Kincaid, SK, on July 26, 1947, to Tony and Caroline Selensky. He grew up on the family farm in Mankota, SK. Leaving home at a young age to pursue his dreams, Ron held various jobs, including working on the rigs, managing the Trochu Hotel, and owning and operating a backhoe service. He founded Selensky Contracting Ltd., where he was actively involved in the trucking industry.

In 1993, Ron was diagnosed with transverse myelitis, which led to paralysis. Despite ongoing health challenges, he transitioned to piloting until September 2023.

Ron will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him, especially his loving partner, Rosemary.

In addition to his partner Rosemary, Ron is survived by his sister Loretta of Lloydminster, sister Emma of Airdrie, brother Chacory of Airdrie, brother Mervin (Donnalee) of Airdrie, and sister Elizabeth (Bob) of Calgary. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Caroline Selensky; and his brother Ben.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no service held.
