Condolences
Our deepest condolences to the Smith family. We have wonderful memories of Michael growing up to be a wonderful husband and father. You are in our prayers
Michael Smith was a prominent member of the Youth Singers of Calgary for many years. He was a wonderful talent and person throughout his time with our organization!. He loved performing and taking the Show on the road. He travelled with the company around the world and was always a positive influence on hundreds of youth. Michael, we love you, will miss you and will remember all the great and meaningful times we had with you for so many years! RIP Shirley Penner, YSC Founder

Michael was an incredibly competent CTO/CIO. He had extremely strong technical skills and a clear vision into the future. He knew how things worked and he led by example. He was a man of immense character. It was a privilege to work so closely with him.
He was so proud of everything about his family. My sincerest condolences to Tracy, Bohdi, Colby and Brooklyn. Michael made a lasting impact on everyone that he came in contact with. Michael was one of the good guys. He will be missed.
Michael was a key part of our leadership team at BURNCO for a number of years and made an outsized contribution, particularly in digital innovation. Tracy and I offer our sincere condolences to the Smith family and all those who knew Michael. Scott

I met Michael when he was 15. Tanis and Randy had just begun dating and getting to know Mike over the years, he always had a way to bring fun into everything. I never saw him happier than he was with his family. Tracy, Bohdi, Colby and Brooklyn, his love grew stronger with each of you. My sympathies. Xo
To Mike's family and friends - I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Working with Mike was a pleasure, he was so kind, funny, and just an amazing guy. You could tell he was an amazing father and husband, and no doubt those who knew him will feel his loss forever. He and you deserved more time, and I am so sorry for your loss.
Best,
Tom
Mike was truly a wonderful father and Husband. Although I didn’t get to know well .. the few occasions I could see his love for his best friend Tracy. Send big hugs to the family.
My deepest condolences to you and your family. Although I only met Michael a few years ago, I considered him a good friend. We jelled immediately, as I am sure he has with others the same way because of his kind and caring nature, and I will truly miss our conversations and brainstorming sessions. I know we sometimes got carried away with ideas, but it was fun. He spoke often of his love for his family. I feel blessed to have met Michael and for the times we got to spend together. He will be missed by many.
Tracey and kids, I'm so sorry to hear about Mike. I have many fond memories of Jason telling tales of the two of them back in the day. I'm praying for you all.
My deepest condolences to all of Michael's friends and loved ones. I have not seen him since the Youth Singers Australian tour of 91 but I will always remember his smile, his humour, his kindness and awesome hair. Rest well, Michael.
Love Deanna Burgart (nee Niven.)
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Michael and his family. Michael was an amazing leader, a great friend and such a all-round awesome guy. We spend many hours hashing out solution on whiteboards (his love for them was legendary) and trading stories of our life experiences. He will be sorely missed!
I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Michael. I worked with Michael for a relatively short time; but even through that relatively brief period of interaction I developed an incredibly positive impression of Michael- a man who exuded kindness, compassion, and a general sense of concern for those around him. Michael's passing is a loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
