Dear Jan,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. Please accept our sincere condolences to you and your family. Jim was a true and loving friend to Tom and me, and I will always be eternally grateful for how you and Jim cared and supported my brother, Tom, in his final days, including traveling to Montreal for his funeral services. Jim’s generosity was outstanding over the years to his many Montreal friends. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all who knew him. Rest in peace.
Love, Jackie and Stewart Irvine
Dear Jan and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Although we first met through business, it didn’t take long for me to think of him as more than just a colleague—I was fortunate to call him a friend. I have many cherished memories from the countless meetings and lunches we shared over the years, moments filled with laughter, wisdom, and great conversations.
Jim was truly one of a kind, and his presence will be greatly missed. Your husband, father, and grandfather was an exceptional person, and the impact he made on those around him is a testament to his character.
Please know that my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time.
With heartfelt condolences,
James McGuire
Hi Jan,
Our deepest condolences to you and family on the passing of Jim.
I have many memories of Jim having played on the same teams in hockey and football and remembering a group of us boys coming out to Calgary to celebrate Jim' 70th birthday. He was a great guy, a leader and a true friend to all who knew him.
He will always be a big part of our lives growing up in St Laurent. and will be missed.
Don & Charmian Silver
Hi Jan,
The last time that I saw, and spoke with Jim, was at a St. Laurent reunion held at the Holiday Inn Pointe Claire, in/or around 2015. We spoke and reminised about the "good old days", growing up in St. Laurent. The Jim I remember always had a smile on his face, except when he was on the football field. St. Laurent was a great place to be in the 1950s through 1970s. We've lost a great guy. Jim, may you rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Chris Mapp
Our most deepest and sincere condolences to the family. Our son, Matt, met Mike (Murph) in high school. During those teenage years Jan & Jim opened their home and provided a safe place for friends to gather. A very special friendship with many wonderful memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jan and family, we are very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We know there are many fond memories which will bring you a daily giggle. We had the pleasure of meeting the Murphys at Perla del Mar Manzanillo MX about 15 years ago. There were many laughs around the pool and at local restaurants. However, the best days were March 17, St Patricks Day, when Jimmy would come marching out onto the pool deck dressed in sparkling green followed by friends and family singing their hearts out to an Irish song. Very sorry for your loss, we're pretty sure Jimmy was in the good Lord's arms before the devil even knew he was gone.

Jim and I were old friends from St-Laurent. Sadly I broke his front tooth while fooling at a water cooler. He was a good athlete and was liked by all who had the chance to know him. May he rest in peace.
