Obituary of Geoffrey William Higgins

October 6, 1980 – Edmonton, Alberta

September 18, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Geoff Higgins, who left us far too soon, at the age of 43 years. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.

He was a man of immense humour, love, and family values, cherishing every moment with family and friends. His unwavering spirit will be forever remembered.

Geoff is survived by his loving children, Gavin and Olivia, whom he adored with all his heart and was so proud of; his father Bob (Jacqui), brother Ben (Shannon), sisters, Vikki and Leslee; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews, and a large community of friends, all of whom will continue to honour his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Geoff was predeceased by his mother Viola.

Geoff was kind, caring, and patient. He will be fondly remembered for his gentle strength, compassionate nature, and his smile that could light up a room. He loved music, especially country, which his kids affectionately called “old man music”; he was always eager to attend concerts. He was a passionate supporter of the Edmonton Oilers and an avid sports fan. He also had a deep love for space, often marveling at the wonders of the universe and sharing his fascination with his children. He was fortunate enough to see a rocket launch and game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals this past June.

He will be dearly missed but always remembered for his warmth, humor, great hugs, and love of family.

We invite all who knew and loved Geoff, to join us for a Celebration of his Life at Clymont Community Hall (51423 AB-60 #1, Spruce Grove, AB) on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
