Coreen Bannerholt

Obituary of Coreen Maria Bannerholt

June 24, 1977 – Yorkton, Saskatchewan

September 25, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Coreen Bannerholt (nee Pittman), beloved wife of Ryan Bannerholt, of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the age of 47 years.

She was born in Yorkton, SK, on June 24, 1977. Coreen later moved to Airdrie, AB. She married Ryan Bannerholt in 2001 and together they raised three children.

Coreen is survived by her loving husband Ryan, daughter Cassidy, and her two sons, Caleb and Christian.

She was actively involved with Teach Beyond, Samaritan’s Purse, Action for Canada, Outschool, Atlas Learning Academy, and the Canadian Network for Muslim Ministers. Coreen’s missions took her to many countries, including Ukraine, Belarus, Brazil, Turkey, and Greece, to teach English, share God’s love, and serve alongside local churches. Coreen had a passion for God and helping people. She often opened her home to those in need, including Ukrainian refugees.

Coreen kept busy and her hands were seldom idle. Some of her pursuits consisted of winemaking, a brief acting career (making an appearance in two films), aspiring author, keeper of chickens, gardening, organizing games, and family activities. Coreen loved to explore the Rocky Mountains.

Coreen’s life verse was Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”.

Another one of Coreen’s favourite verses was Romans 12: 1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Coreen will be most remembered for her vibrancy for life and people.
