Celebration of Life
Condolences
Katy, Jim and Family. Leigh and I were so sorry to hear about your devastating loss. Our sincere condolences. Franquie and Leigh Parkinson
I first met Gav in high school and we connected over having both lived in Toronto and loving The Blue Jays. From our study sessions in high school to our years shared at U if L and beyond, I have the best memories of a guy who made us laugh, was compassionate, witty and charming. I send my love to Gavin’s family and friends, Michelle and all the folks who I’m sure must be missing seeing his smiling face on his route and at The Ship.
Gutted to hear about my friend Gavin's passing.
There are people you meet in life who add so much, and Gavin was one of these friends. Always one to ask how you're doing and how things are in your life, our conversations were always so easy. From meeting him in High School, sleeping on his couch in Lethbridge during University, drafting fantasy football teams, to sitting on the hood of his Jeep during May Long Weekends in BC for hours, I have memories I'll hold forever.
I'm sad I can't be at the memorial, but I'll be thinking of him on Thursday and raising a pint in his memory. My condolences to Michelle, Gavin's family, and all his good friends - he left us too soon and he will be greatly missed.
RIP Amigo - until we chat again
I will always remember Gavin's constant positivity and incredible smile. Shared many fun times back in the day and I will miss him a great deal. Rest easy sir. I will never forget you.
It has been a week since I got the horrible news that you has passed away. Honesty, I have yet to come to grips with it, and not sure I even will. I'm not even sure where to start on how much of an impact you have had on my life, over the 35 years we have know each other. As many of our friends that knew us, it was always "Matt and Gav / Gav and Matt." G, you were more that a best friend, you were my Brother! I read, "What's the difference between a Good Friend, and a Best Friend? A Good Friend knows all your stories, but a Best Friend, helped you write them!" I will forever miss you Brother, as nobody I met was as kind, understood me, or gave me advice like you could. I'll miss our Chats and late night Text threads about Movie Lines from our favorite Flicks, (MadMax / The Road Warrior / Dirty Harry / and SO many more) Lastly, the uncanny way you had of just getting your point across at times in conversation. Such as, "Oh Matthew, I've forgotten more than you will ever learn!" Man, I love you and can't wait to see you again, share a beer and most importantly a laugh and a BIG hug...I know you loved my Hugs ; ) Until we meet again. - Matthew Lavers.
So very sorry to hear of Gavins passing. Gone way to soon. I met Gavin at the Plant when he was a PO4 working machines. Great guy! Class act! Always a smile on his face. Until we meet again brother.

There is nobody I know who loved life more than you, Gavin, and it was contagious. All time spent with you was present and real. Every shared thought a tangible reality. All things a possibility. Love you could touch and feel, mainly through laughter. I am grateful for you and who you always will be. One of the best people I have ever known. I will love you forever and miss you every day.
Gavin, my friend, you are gone far too soon, and I already miss you terribly. I count myself as extremely lucky to have had you in my life for 35 years, and your passing has left a hole that will never be fully filled. From high school days until current days, you were a true friend who I loved deeply and always looked forward to seeing. I will greatly miss our daily messaging with Rob and the joy and laughter that you brought to my life. While it is extremely hard not to be sad now, I will honor your memory with stories, smiles, laughter and the lifting of a pint, as you would want it to be. You were my brother, and I will always love you Gav. Rest in peace now my friend.
