Sarah and Matt, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom always spoke about you both with such love and pride. She was such an incredible person, I learned so much from Sherre both personally and professionally but the one thing that I will always keep with me is to be unapologetically yourself. Sherre was a remarkable individual. She was a force to be reckoned with professionally, and made many notable contributions to carriers results countrywide. She was a strong mentor to staff, and was a positive role model that hundreds of insurance professionals strived to be like. What makes her unique, is that as much as we admired her professionally, she was an even better person. She was always there for her colleagues, family and friends. She would provide words of wisdom and inspiration when needed, and helped me personally and professionally when I encountered issues at work.

I am honoured to be able to refer her as a leader, a mentor and a friend. Someone I will never forget. Rest in peace Sherre.

Sherre hired me, straight out of University as a Commercial Auto Underwriter in 1984. We worked at Wawanesa together til 1990. I learned so much from her. I have fond memories outside of work too. She'd host fun "team building" get togethers at her home. We crossed paths again at Aviva from 2012-2019. She was an amazing support to me and such a consensus builder. I loved how Sherre supported learning and developing her teams. She will missed by many and left a wonderful legacy.

Sherre was a tour de force and a joy to work with. We had many occasions where we worked together and I always admired her drive, ethics, high standards and expectation to also have FUN at what you do at work. Condolences to the entire family. Sarah and Matthew - I am so sorry for your loss. I adored my time working with Sherre this past 18 months. We were kindred spirits in the love for our work. My regular 1/1s with her were a highlight of my week. She adored being your mom. You came up regularly in our conversations and you could just hear her pride. Absolutely devastated to learn of Sherre's passing. Wayne and I send our deepest condolences to Matthew and Sarah, family, and the friends and colleagues who knew her. We both had the pleasure of meeting and working with Sherre many years ago at Kingsway Insurance. We continued to stay connected over the years both professionally and personally as Wayne and Sherre also share the same birthday. I was overjoyed when Sherre returned to Wawanesa Insurance where I could work again with her. She was an amazing leader and a beautiful person. Despite health challenges, she remained resilient and was an awe-inspiring example in continuing to push through adversity. She will be dearly missed.

Sherre's passing is so sad! My condolences to her family. She was well known in our industry and I'm blessed to have known her.

I am incredibly heartbroken to hear of Sherre’s passing. She was one of my favourite people, so tough, funny, witty, and generous with her time. A wonderful mentor, I learned a lot from her. She was my rock when I was caregiving my partner during start of Covid and afterwards. Sherre would reach out to me, even after leaving Aviva, asking “How are you holding up Dee?”, I’m going to miss her heartfelt messages.
