Obituary of Sherre Lynn Newell

Sherre Lynn Newell, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 66 with her children by her side.
Born on May 16, 1958, in Lindsay, ON, Sherre was the adored daughter of Clifford Wayne Newell and Norma Joan Nicholson. She channeled her passion for helping others into a successful and esteemed career as an insurance executive. She embodied selflessness and was an incredibly loyal and genuine person. An amazingly strong woman who beat cancer twice, she always remained positive in the face of insurmountable odds.
Sherre's greatest achievements were the birth of her two children, Sarah and Matthew, whom she loved and cherished more than life itself. She was an incredibly dedicated mother who instilled important values in her children and made sure they always felt loved and cared for. Sherre's greatest passion was ensuring that others were taken care of, and she carried this passion with her throughout her life.
In her free time, Sherre enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children. She loved the beach. One of her most memorable vacations was a cruise with her kids that started in Texas and took them through Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. She also had a special place in her heart for her family dog, Lilly, who brought her countless moments of joy and comfort.
Sherre will be deeply missed by her son, Matthew, and daughter, Sarah, as well as her brother, Paul. She also leaves behind her beloved friends and colleagues who were fortunate enough to have known her and are like family to her children. She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford Wayne Newell and Norma Joan Nicholson.
Sarah and Matthew would like to thank everyone who knew and loved Sherre for their support during this difficult time. The outpouring of love and kindness is a testament to Sherre's character and impact on those around her. She will always be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her children, her positive outlook on life, and her exceptional leadership in her esteemed career.
