Condolences
To Marks Family & Friends
It was a pleasure having Mark work as my assistant on the maintenance team at Canyon Meadows Golf Club for twelve years. Together we took care of members and events. He was an amazing individual with genuine pride in his job.
We had a great friendship playing hockey and golf as well, he attended many of our family events.
A void will be felt by many in his absence.
Thoughts and prayers from our family to yours.

It was only after several enjoyable rounds that I came to know our Squiggy by Mark. I was assigned to book a tee time and found that “squiggy” was not within the search list of our members…a 6:45 AM panic for me that he throughly enjoyed. Mark had tremendous talent with a patient and fun personality… He will be both dearly missed and an inspiration for remembering all that we have to cherish.
Squiggly I always loved our golf games at priddis we played together. I’ll cherish the memories for ever. RIP my friend
I met Squiggs years ago when he and my son worked together at Heritage Point . He was a sweetheart , respectful , friendly and always smiling . Several years later It was so great to see him enjoying golf at Priddis . He made a name for himself pretty fast with his stellar golf talent and that same friendly , smiling , quiet way about him.
Our sincere condolences to Mark’s family in these very difficult days . Beryl /Ken MacDonald
Unfortunately I am unable to attend due to other commitments but I wanted to express my deep condolences to the family. Knowing Mark over the past 15 years I can validate all of the kind words that others have already said. I still remember running into him at Priddis putting green after a 6 year absence on my part and we picking things back up like we never left. I will miss our matches and hockey successes / failures.
I worked with Squiggy at Heritage Pointe and had many laughs and got beat many times on the golf course by him. Always chatty and always smiling. We lost a good one. RIP buddy!
We first met Mark as a school friend from Jr. High School brought home by our son Bobby. Since that day our door was open to him and he was a part of our family at Palliser and subsequent move to Herltage Pointe where our home was the meet up or ending of a game. Mark shared many family birthdays and other events with us including being one of Bobby’s groomsmen at his wedding. We were warmed to have known Mark and his gentle “innocent” demeanour that we so often could draw him into a joke. We will miss your laughter and wave from the deck on 17, but our memories are fresh on our hearts. Love and condolences to the family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark for the first time through our mutual friend Cal Macfarlane, whilst attending a Riley’s Best Ball draw night dinner at Canyon Meadows G&CC. Afterwards I soon came to realize that Mark was such a fine young man who displayed respect for others and was a very humble and kind person. He was also an extremely good golfer, a scratch player! Whenever an opportunity came up to play together, I relished the day spent on the course with him. I would find myself watching in awe as Mark managed his way around eighteen holes, always “steady Eddie-like! He was very giving of his time and expertise, always willing to give a helpful golf tip when asked. Sadly the world has lost one of its good guys far too soon. Until we meet again Mark, I will miss your funny giggle and I hope you’re hitting your consistent butter fade on the most beautiful course ever imaginable.
My sincere condolences to Mark’s family.
Mark was one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. I will miss my time talking to Squiggy around the golf course trying to figure out his secret to putting. Seems like yesterday he joined and became a very popular member amongst our group. He will be missed for decades to come.
I worked with Mark at the Heritage Point backshop from 2003 to 2009. I have so many fond memories of working and golfing with Mark, and I feel lucky to have called him a friend. My deepest condolences to his family and friends at this time.
I'm going to buy an eatmore and watch the flames tomorrow in his honour. Rest in peace friend.

I first met Mark when I started working at HP nearly 20 years ago. We bonded over our love of hockey and golf, during our long days cleaning up after golf tournaments. Squiggs was an amazing athlete, able to fire a couple under in the morning, go score a beauty short side goal in the afternoon and then stop 40 shots playing goal at midnight. I’ll miss the texts during flames games hyping up our next big player, and conveying the message that his dad thinks Backlund has a muffin of a shot.
We’ll miss you, Squiggs. Sending the Gloeckler family our love.
Love, Darcy & Jaimie and our boys
I worked with Mark - (Squiggy - as he was affectionately known by his friends) at Heritage Pointe for many years. I have so many great memories playing golf, going to the pub, hanging out, and working with Mark. He was such a kind, gentle, caring person who was loved by so many. I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of his passing and I extend my deep condolences to all of his family and those lucky enough to call him a friend. Rest easy buddy. - Your Pal G
